This episode is all about getting people excited to try their hand at canning. It's not a daunting, complicated task like a lot of people think. It's easy. It's economical. It's good for you. There are wonderful recipes out there and lots of variations that don't involve the levels of sugar that traditional jams and jellies call for, so once you're comfortable with the whole canning experience; research, experiment and customize recipes that work for you and your tastes. Our focus was on the process of canning to get people to embrace the wonderful things they can do for themselves using the produce they grow or purchase. It's accessible to anyone and everyone. Locally grown, organic produce is always best, but if it's not available or not in the budget; bulk produce from wholesale clubs and grocery marts will also work beautifully for you. ENJOY!
