There are a number of plants that can help keep some of the pesky flying insects away. Listed below are a few of our favorites. You can magnify their potential by crushing their stems to release the oils or by creating teas and tinctures to use in sprays. (It's always a good idea to do a 'test patch' on your skin if you have any allergic concerns.) Some may argue that just having them planted in pots and set around won't deter, but we believe from our own experiences that they do help. Other things to be conscientious of include encouraging birds and bats to your yard to help keep the population down....watch for standing water, and to simply stop using chemicals that harm your yards natural ecosystem.
